Project Overview

CAA Marketing, Messaging and Branding

Today, it is more important than ever to “Tell Your Community Action Story” so that it powerfully impacts your target audiences over an extended period of time.  As described in the August 23rd RPIC News Feed, CAL/NEVA’s Communication Planning Guide is designed to provide valuable information on how to approach the implementation of a successful communications program.

CAL/NEVA has also created a local CAA marketing approach under its Marketing, Messaging, and Branding Capacity Building Demonstration Project – see Project Overview.  A format for an 8-page newsprint publication was created as a very successful and cost effective way to showcase local agencies.

Examples of Publications

The demonstration project brought together three northern California rural community action agencies and the state CAA association to develop and implement an outreach and education project that targets the local low income community.  Here are two examples of 8-page newsprint publications that were created featuring these CAAs:

Additional publications were also created to help low-income residents learn about community resources such as Homeownership Starts Here.
