Job Summary

The Community Engagement Specialist is a dynamic community organizer with a passion for building relationships and promoting social change through grassroots advocacy.  The Community Engagement Specialist will galvanize local communities to take action on key issues impacting their communities. This high-energy professional will lead efforts to build relationships, coalitions and partnerships with local community action agencies (CAAs), partners, residents and community stakeholders to identify strategies, raise awareness, and advocate for the implementation of solutions to issues impacting their communities.

A key responsibility of this position is to promote civic engagement through education and skill development of local residents.  Community outreach functions will include, but are not limited to, hosting community meetings, coalition building, and implementing local communication and advocacy efforts.  This position requires strong leadership, public speaking, writing, events management, interpersonal and communication skills.
