SCACAP Census 2020 Update

SCACAP Delivers Umbrellas to SC CAP Directors Association Members and SCACAP Board Members
As the State Association is the hub and umbrella agency for the Community Action Network, we were pleased to provide each member of the SCACAP Board of Directors, SC CAP Directors’ Association, and affiliate staff with an imprinted SCACAP and U.S. Census Bureau logo umbrella, which symbolizes we are here to provide adequate shelter during the rainy days in our work in Community Action.

SCACAP’s First Grant Writers’ Circle Project

SCACAP would like to thank those agencies for their support of the Grant Writer’s Circle’s first project…to discuss the necessary information to apply for the SC Stay Grant statewide to expand the capacity of the Network.  SCACAP determined that most agencies will be applying separately for this opportunity.  However, SCACAP applied directly as an applicant to work with its 13 EHS-CCP sites.  SCACAP provided Training and Technical Assistance to assist the agencies in completing their application by coordinating a Q&A Session with SC Housing via Zoom.

We are delighted to share with you one of OCAB’s latest success stories from the OCAB Youth Leadership Program.  Destine Hicks (featured in the T&D article) is now serving as an associate director in the White House Office of Presidential Personnel. Ms. Hicks was also the winner of the 5th SCACAP Statewide Youth Leadership Oratorical Contest in 2014.  This story is more evidence of how powerful the SC Association of Community Action Partnership’s collaborative statewide efforts have positively impacted the youth in Orangeburg, Bamberg, Calhoun, and Allendale counties!
