Each year, South Carolina, along with the Community Action Agencies (CAA) across the nation, celebrate National Community Action Month in the Month of May…On May 1, 2020, the Governor of South Carolina, Henry McMaster, signed the Community Action Proclamation observance of Community Action Month – see newsletter for copy of the proclamation.

In each edition of The Hub SCACAP shares best practices and spotlights these best practices of SCACAP’s Early Head Start-Child Care Partnership (EHS-CCP). This issue of The Hub will spotlight one (1) of SCACAP's EHS Child Care Partners: Midland's Primary. We are spotlighting this center for creating an innovative way to provide supplies to the children and their families of our EHS-CCP Program during the COVID-19 pandemic – see newsletter for details and a video of the quarantine care package drop off.
South Carolina Association of Community Action Partnerships, Inc. (SCACAP) was awarded a Community Connection Resource grant in the amount of $1,000 by WellCare…Through this grant, SCACAP will increase essential resources to purchase diapers and wipes, decreasing the financial burden of the 256 vulnerable families and their children enrolled in our EHS-CCP Program.
This year, conducting business through teleconference or video conferencing has become the new norm. The EHS-CCP Policy Council practiced social distancing by hosting their meeting via telephone on Thursday, May 7, 2020.
