Registration Open: Missouri Poverty Summit
Join Missourians to End Poverty and difference-makers from across the state for a day of community-centered dialogue at the 2018 Missouri Poverty Summit on Thursday, September 20! The summit features two engaging keynote speakers, Rev. Dr. Liz Theoharis and Dr. Jason Purnell, as well as a panel discussion with elected officials and a panel of experts addressing the five elements of poverty—economic and family security, education, food and nutrition, health, housing and energy.
NETWORK CAPACITY – Helping you help others
SkillUP Funding from Family Support Division
The Family Support Division of the Missouri Department of Social Services has asked Missouri’s Community Action Agencies to implement programming through the SkillUP Program via a special, one-time funding opportunity made available with TANF contingency funds during State Fiscal Year 2019.
The SkillUP Program offers SNAP recipients in Missouri the opportunity to gain skills, training or work experience and is funded by USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service… Missouri CAN will serve as the funds administrator and monitor for $4.5 million in SkillUP funds during the state’s FY19, assuming the association is approved as a single feasible source by the Missouri Office of Administration…
