January is Poverty Awareness Month
In 1964, President Lyndon B. Johnson's "War on Poverty" expand the government's role in providing housing, education, and health care to the poor.
Poverty is at an all time high. The U.S. Census Bureau estimates that 16% of the population live at or below the poverty level. We must do our part to help eradicate poverty.
Make a Commitment today to get involved with the local fight against poverty.
Results Oriented Management and Accountability (ROMA) National Peer to Peer (NPTP) Training Project
The ROMA-NPTP project has been holding the In-service Continuing Education Program (ICEP) for Nationally Certified ROMA Trainers every year since 2004. As of 2014, the Association of Nationally Certified ROMA Trainers (ANCRT) has been sponsoring the ICEP sessions.

2018 Management and Leadership Training Conference
Community Action: A Source of Strength
The 2018 Management and Leadership Training Conference targeted board and staff leaders at Community Action Agencies. The 2018 MLTC featured intensive training, structured round-table discussions, and networking opportunities. MLTC also engages Community Action leadership in a dialogue about how to best increase impact and efficiency throughout the year. Attendees had multiple opportunities to gather new ideas, share experiences, ask questions, and convey agency accomplishments.

Georgia- 2018 Session Convenes
Lawmakers will convene in Atlanta for the 2018 regular session. The legislature is expected to address the $26 billion state budget and consider issues such as income tax rate reductions. Also on the agenda are mass-transit funding, economic development in rural areas, medical marijuana expansion, and infrastructure improvements. The legislature is expected to adjourn by early March.
Nationally Certified ROMA Implementer (NCRI)
The Regional Cohort (RPIC IVA) will be implementing an NCRI Phase II, March 2018. All interested individuals must complete an application and the e-course before March 2018 to qualify to participate.
