The Executive Director, reporting to the Board of Directors, is responsible for overall implementation of the mission of the organization. The Executive Director will be a strategic leader who can develop, manage, and market the organization and events as well as provide direction for the organization. The Executive Director will oversee all aspects of agency budgets, including developing strategies and initiatives for increasing and diversifying sustainable funding sources and long-term community partnerships. This hands-on position serves as a primary representative for the organization, requiring an individual who is familiar with and well connected to the service communities, and able to effectively convey the mission and work of the organization.
The Rural Office of Community Services, Inc. is a Private Non-Profit Community Action Agency, located in Lake Andes, SD, serving 22 counties in South Eastern and South Central South Dakota. We are dedicated to helping elderly and low -income families reach self-sufficiency. The successful candidate must have a Degree in Administration, Business, Social Sciences or related field and/or five (5) years experience in business, managing a budget with three (3) of the years being in a supervisory capacity or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable. Prefer experience in non-profit. Candidate must be able to commute to the corporate office located in Lake Andes, SD daily.
