Head Start Extends Program Day – Opportunities for Otsego
Beginning fall 2017, the Head Start program operated by Opportunities for Otsego will offer extended program days...The shift to the 6½ hour day was prompted by new national Head Start Performance Standards, which require programs to provide full day programming by August 2021. Extended program hours support families who are working or in school and provides greater exposure to high-quality learning experiences for children, which are linked to positive child outcomes.
The expansion of the five centers was made possible through supplemental funds awarded by the Office of Head Start
