2016 Politics, Poverty and the Presidency Forum

The 2016 Politics, Poverty and the Presidency forum was held on January 21st and 22nd in Nashua, NH. The event was sponsored by the New England Community Action Partnership (NECAP), the Community Action Partnership, the National Community Action Foundation (NCAF), and the Alliance for Strong Families and Communities.

NECAP president Amos Smith and NY Times Op-Ed columnist Charles M. Blow engaged in a moderated conversation around Community Action and the Black Lives Matter movement, the disappearing middle class and racial tensions, and the role of mainstream media in managing campaigns and candidates. Attendees also heard inspiring words from Lisa Robinson, a former client and current staff member of Community Teamwork in Massachusetts. Lisa spoke about her experience with Community Action and how it changed her life for the better, opening new doors and opportunities for her and her family…
