October is Weatherization Month

The clock is ticking away as we quickly approach October 30th! Help celebrate and promote the Weatherization Assistance Program with using #weatherization or #WXDayOct30. For ideas on how to participate please go to NASCSP's blog "29 Days and Counting to Weatherization Day 2015" or the WAPTAC website.

National Partner News

CAP Receives Two Grants from Office of Community Services
The Community Action Partnership announced that is was awarded two grants from the Office of Community Services. The Community Action Partnership will be seeking applications from the Network in the near future to participate in the clusters.

Learning Communities Resource Center: This grant is a cooperative agreement that exends the work of CAP's Learning Communities Resource Center. The funding provides an additional two years to convene nine learning communities:

Place-Based Strategies for Community Revitalization
National Poverty Trends
Decreasing Homelessness
Bundling Services to Improve Outcomes
Financial Empowerment for Families
Toxic Stress and Trauma
Child Rural Poverty
Financial Empowerment for Families
Multi-Generation Strategies

State Eligible Entities Technical Assistance Services (SEETAS): This grant will build on CAP's Risk Mitigation Center. This grant is seventeen months and will support nine State CSBG Lead Agencies and Community Action Agencies. SEETAS provides technical assistance to agencies in crisis, identify improvements to state monitoring and oversight systems, and will help develop resources for the Network to improve administration.

CSBG Dear Colleague Letter Released

On September 17, 2015, the Office of Community Services (OCS) distributed a Dear Colleague Letter announcing the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) survey for CSBG eligible entities – survey closes October 23, 2015 – see Dear Colleague Letter.

New Jersey Funding Opportunity

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation has announced a funding opportunity titled NJHI: Building a Culture of Health in New Jersey - Communities Moving to Action - Round 2. This funding will support communities across New Jersey to make sustainable systems changes and policy-oriented, long-term solutions for healthier living. NJHI will support up to 10 multi-sector, community-focused coalitions across New Jersey to participate in this four-year initiative…
