TACA Wishes Julia Presson Well in Her Retirement
This summer, Highland Rim Economic Corporation's Julia Presson is retiring. Julia began her career in Community Action as a Summer Head Start Bookkeeper. Her various titles included Finance Officer, Director of Finance and Assistant Director/Director of Finance. For the past 21 years, she has lead Highland Rim as Executive Director. Earning the respect of her peers, Julia was voted into leadership roles within the Tennessee Association of Community Action where she served as Secretary and also in the Southeastern Association of Community Action (SEACAA), where she served as a Board member and Secretary during a portion of her tenure…
Congratulations Knoxville CAC on Receipt of Mult-Million Dollar Grant!
TACA congratulates Knoxville-Knox County Community Action Committee (CAC) on their award from the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) to run the Knoxville Extreme Energy Makeover program. Nationally Certified ROMA Trainers
Cassandra Foret (Mid-Cumberland Community Action Agency) and Scarlet Patterson (South Central Human Resource Agency), recently earned certification as Nationally Certified ROMA Trainers. They join Tennessee's ROMA Training Team of 10 others spread across the state. ROMA Candidates must complete a rigorous four-phase process, which includes an internship, to gain certification. ROMA (Results Oriented Management Accountability) is a comprehensive performance-based management system. According to CSBG Organizational Standards (4.3), Nationally Certified ROMA Trainers (NCRTs) will work alongside agencies in their application of the ROMA Cycle (assessment, planning, implementation, achievement of results, and evaluation).
