NEW! OCS Releases IM 138 on Organizational Standards; FREE Webinar January 30th
The Office of Community Services has released its Final Information Memorandum (IM) 138 on the CSBG Community Action Agency (CAA) Organizational Standards – see newsletter for important highlights. The Community Action Partnership hosted a webinar with detailed information on the standards – listen to the recording. Please note: IM 138 reflects some changes to the original standards that were submitted to OCS – additional info.

NASCSP Releases 2014 CSBG Annual Report
The National Association for State Community Service Programs (NASCSP) has released the 2014 CSBG Annual Report. The report features data, statistics, graphics, and outcomes analysis, and all state-level appendices data from the FY2013 CSBG IS Survey. In FFY 2013, Community Action Agencies across the country provided services to over 15.7 million low-income individuals in 6.7 million families.
HHS Releases Poverty Guidelines
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has released the Federal Poverty Guidelines for 2015. They are different from the poverty threshold, which is used to determine poverty statistics by the US Census Bureau. These guidelines serve as the criteria for eligibility to participate in or receive assistance from federal programs. In 2014, the poverty guideline for a household of one was $11, 670, while the 2015 guideline delineates an income of $11,770 for a one person household.
