The Florida Association for Community Action has established three awards to be presented at the upcoming 2014 FACA Annual Training Conference – Community Action Agency of the Year Award, Self-Sufficiency Award, and Volunteer Award.
Community Action Agency of the Year Award
To recognize and honor achievements by the Community Action Agency (CAA) which fostered the mission of community action through assisting the greatest number of families and individuals to achieve economic independence and self-sufficiency within their communities. This award also recognizes local advocacy efforts, community participation, partnerships and collaborations formed by the agency to assist low-income citizens in their journey to self-sufficiency as well as the agency’s efforts to achieve organizational excellence and represent the best practices within the network.
To recognize and honor achievements by individuals who, with the assistance of a Community Action Agency (CAA), have changed their lives and achieved economic independence.
Volunteer of the Year Award
To recognize distinguished and outstanding individuals, organizations or businesses whose voluntary service or contributions have had a significant impact on Florida’s low-income citizens and the communities in which they live.
FACA Annual Training Conference
The 2014 FACA Annual Training Conference will be held from May 13-16, 2014 in Orlando, FL.
