Ohio Association of Community Action Agencies

Food Stamp Challenge

April 30 - May 4

Greetings!

In honor of Community Action Month, the Ohio Association of Community Action Agencies is initiating the Ohio Community Action Food Stamp Challenge April 30-May 4.  The goal of the Challenge is to increase awareness and give participants a view of what life can be like for the 1.75 million low-income Ohioans receiving food stamps.

As a supporter of Community Action, we would like to invite you to participate in the Challenge by living on a food stamp budget for one week and sharing your experience.  Click here to find information about how the Challenge works and how you can participate.  Also visit our Food Stamp Challenge Blog, which features this information:
  • About the Challenge
  • Register for the Challenge
  • Budget and Nutritional Information
  • What to Blog About
  • About Community Action

While living on a food stamp budget for just one week cannot come close to the struggles encountered by low-income families week after week and month after month, we hope that it will provide a new perspective and greater understanding of the challenges low-income people in your community face.

We hope that you will participate in the Challenge.

Best wishes,

OACAA
